to the mountains.

This morning I woke up with an itch that could only be cured by a trip to
the mountains. I find a lot of joy in being constantly surrounded by
the mountains but there are some days where proximity just isn't
enough. So, when we had a spare hour this afternoon we got in the car and made our way up
the canyon to bridal veil falls. I can never find the words to
describe just how much I love the mountains except to say that they
are where I feel most comfortable and driving up to them feels like
going home. I feel the same sort of familiarity and ease in the
mountains that I do when I am with my family and dearest friends. Our
trip to bridal veil this afternoon was lovely. I fell in love with
Utah all over again. The best part of it all, though, was watching Jeremiah
experience something I have such a great love for. He sat on my lap
for a record breaking amount of time as we watched the fish swim at
the base of the falls. We dipped his tiny toes in the water and
walked him around the river. It felt good to be with my two favorite
people in one of my most favorite places. There is so much joy in
experiencing life through the eyes of your child. There is just
nothing else like it.
