Last Thursday night my older sister Kaitlan gave birth to a sweet little girl. I was lucky enough to be there for the birth and while it was a crazy and overwhelming it was truly amazing. I always thought it was cliche the way people would call birth a miracle but as I watched the whole process happen that was the only word that came to mind. For days all I've wanted is to hold that sweet little one. A few minutes after she was born, when everything had calmed down. My mom held her little hand and said "this is earth, Savannah." It was a special moment for all of us as we realized how close that little one is to heaven. I don't think I have words to describe it all but I think this picture captures it pretty well. I was able to take it right after Savannah had been placed in my sister's arms. Those aren't tears of pain, in a lot of ways I think that must be what overwhelming joy looks like. I don't know what its like to be a mother but looking at this, I have to think that all the pain and all the work is worth it.

Welcome to the world little Savannah!

Also, I think it is definitely worth noting that my sweet brother in law received his mission call to Pittsburgh!!! So so exciting. Congratulations Kayson!
