do rad things.

yesterday Kory, J, and I were out shopping when we saw a family approaching the counter with a pack of not so great no-show socks. I nudged Kory and told him to say something (because, hello! we own a sock company), so he did and we got to chatting with this sweet mom and her two boys. We talked for quite awhile and the conversation switched from socks to Spain to missions and on from there. Before we parted ways, they told us about a crawfish bake they were having later that night and invited us to come by - we told them we would if we were still in the area when it started. We hung out in Herriman for a little while - visiting our new (darling!) nephew Jack and then made our way over to the crawfish bake. Within minutes, our new friend Christine whisked Jeremiah off to meet all her friends and to let us get going on the two-hands-required process of eating crawdads. It was such a blast and felt like we were visiting with old friends rather than dining with strangers. The whole thing was really fabulous - they had a band, a bounce house, tons of food and a whole lot of crawfish. We met some more friends, chatted for about an hour and a half, and headed home so happy that we had stopped by. Kory's ability to make friends out of complete strangers always amazes me and last night was no exception. On the way home we talked about how we never regret going a little out of our comfort zone to do rad things. It's worth it every time. every. single. time.
